Common Off-roading Questions

1. How do you decide which trails to do?

My family has some deep roots in off-roading so over time we have made friends in towns where the best off-roading is. Through these friends and with the help of trail maps we are able to do the best trails known to the off-road community. A lot of the time we just have to ask the locals who know the area to show us around, and that is always an adventure.

2. What are the benefits of buying a jeep?

All growing up my family has owned jeeps so obviously the first car I wanted was a jeep. But unlike some people who buy jeeps only to drive them to and from work, we actually use our jeeps for what they were built for. What a lot of people don’t know is that jeeps are manufactured to be able to not only go off-road, but to also be built easier than any other car. Building a jeep means adding things like lift kits and bigger tires to be able to do the more challenging trails. So that is why I have a jeep.

3. Where do I find the best products for my off-road vehicle?

The good thing about today’s off-roading world is that there are so many products for your vehicle that it’s somewhat overwhelming trying to find a bumper or a lift kit for example. But like anything, the cheaper the product the worse it’s going to perform. Some of my favorites are Teraflex, Poison Spider, XRC, and Waren Winches.

4. How often do you go off-roading?

Unfortunately, I am still in school so I don’t go as much as I would like. But I do try to go at least once a month during the winter, which usually means driving a few hours south. During the summer I tend to go a few times a month even if it is just a short trip because I love being outdoors and I love driving my Jeep with the top off.

5. Can anyone be good at off-roading?

YES, anyone can be good at off-roading, it just might take a lot of practice. All trails have a rating system that generally start at 1, being the easiest, and then moving up from there. Some places only go to 4 and some go to 10 so make sure you check before you do the trail!
